River Valley Holiday Park, located in Wicklow, Ireland, offers a mix of accommodation, dining and family activities designed to encourage longer stays and repeat visits. The team were looking to strengthen their outdoor facilities and introduce an attraction that would:
• Appeal to younger families
• Maximise use of open outdoor space
• Be easy to supervise and operate
• Deliver strong guest engagement without adding significant staffing or maintenance pressures
• Complement their existing family-focused experience
They wanted something visually engaging, practical to manage and capable of becoming a long-term part of the park’s offer.
The River Valley team first discovered Aqualand at IAAPA Expo Europe, where they explored a range of interactive family attractions.

Crazi-Bugz immediately stood out as a fun, accessible activity, while the off-road style Adventure-Trukz added a sense of adventure and progression for older children. Following the show, the team arranged a visit to trial the vehicles in person. This hands-on experience allowed them to test the concept with their wider team and confirm that the solution aligned with their operational and guest experience goals.
Ashley Williams, River Valley Holiday Park, explained:

As this was the first time River Valley Holiday Park had developed a track-based family attraction, the design phase was a critical part of the project. Aqualand Industries worked closely with the team to provide guidance, inspiration and practical insight based on previous holiday park and visitor attraction installations.
This collaborative approach ensured the activity would maximise open space, support efficient operations and deliver a strong guest experience from day one.
This included:
• Track layout support to create safe, visible driving routes
• Feedback on vehicle flow, supervision and safety
• Video examples of similar holiday park installations to help visualise the space
• Advice on infrastructure, storage and long-term operational planning
The result was a flexible dual-track solution designed to support a wide age range while maintaining clear operational control.
• A Crazi-Bugz track designed for younger children and first-time riders
• A separate Adventure-Trukz track offering a more adventurous off-road driving experience
• Shared storage and charging facilities to simplify daily setup and management
The open layout ensures strong visibility across the activity area, allowing staff to supervise efficiently while parents can relax nearby. This is particularly valuable for holiday parks focused on safe, family-friendly outdoor activities.
Carl Byford, General Manager at Aqualand Industries, said:
“River Valley’s team wanted something operationally simple but exciting for children and families. It was a pleasure to work together on a design that keeps things practical without losing the sense of adventure.”
Ashley added:
“As this was the first time we’d developed a track like this, we relied on Aqualand for feedback and ideas. The team shared examples of other installations and helped guide the design process, which made everything much easier.”
To ensure the installation felt like a natural extension of the park, River Valley chose custom grey Adventure-Trukz to match their brand identity and overall aesthetic. This level of customisation helped the attraction integrate seamlessly into the surrounding environment, reinforcing the park’s premium positioning and considered guest experience.
The combination of strong visual appeal and thoughtful design created an activity space that stands out while still complementing the wider outdoor setting. This approach is increasingly important for holiday parks looking to differentiate their offer in a competitive market.
A key objective for River Valley was to introduce a new family activity for holiday park guests without adding unnecessary operational complexity. The shared infrastructure, clear track design and durable commercial vehicles ensure smooth day-to-day management.
Since installation, the vehicles have operated reliably with minimal disruption, allowing the team to focus on guest experience and customer satisfaction.
Ashley commented:
“Since installation, the vehicles have been running consistently without issues. We’ve found the team very easy to work with, and any questions have been answered quickly.”
The centralised storage and charging system has reduced setup and closing time, while the clear layout supports straightforward supervision, efficient staffing and safe operation.
The attraction quickly became a focal point within River Valley’s outdoor space, supporting both guest engagement and operational efficiency.
Key benefits include:
• Broader family appeal – Attracts a wide age range, encouraging families to participate together.
• Repeat engagement – Encourages multiple rides, increasing dwell time and perceived value.
• Clear supervision – Open layout allows staff and parents to easily monitor activity.
• Distinct identity – Custom grey vehicles strengthen brand positioning and differentiate the attraction.
Ashley noted:
“The biggest sign of success is seeing children wanting to go straight back and do it again – and that’s something we see here all the time.”
As holiday parks continue to invest in experience-led stays and memorable outdoor activities, installations such as River Valley demonstrate how carefully designed, low-maintenance attractions can enhance guest journeys while supporting long-term commercial performance.
By combining engaging play, strong visual impact and operational simplicity, the project supports River Valley’s ongoing strategy of delivering high-quality, family-focused experiences that drive repeat visits and guest loyalty.
For holiday parks and visitor attractions, River Valley demonstrates how thoughtful design and customisation can transform open space into a flexible, family-focused and revenue-generating activity.
