From Revenue Share to Profit: Eiland van Maurik Adventure-Trukz

The Challenge: Replacing a Failed Lease Model

Vakantiepark Eiland van Maurik operated two leisure vehicles through a competitor’s revenue-share scheme — a model that had failed to deliver expected returns. The park needed a better solution: one that gave them full control, immediate profitability, and a genuine guest experience.

The Solution: Outright Ownership, Family-Centred Play

Aqualand proposed two Adventure-Trukz purchased outright. The model was simple and elegant: one child drives while a sibling or guardian joins for the ride. Guests pay €15 for 30 minutes, and parents supervise from the sidelines—eliminating staffing overhead while keeping the activity fully family-centred.

The park positioned the vehicles at the reception entrance for immediate visibility to arriving guests. This deliberate placement proved crucial: younger guests noticed straight away and asked to ride.

Guest Experience: Immediate Impact

“The feedback on the Adventure Trucks has been very positive. They allow guests to discover the park in a playful and interactive way. We see that many guests make use of them and return from their ride very happy and enthusiastic. Children especially really enjoy the experience. We immediately notice that they catch the attention of younger guests, who often ask straight away if they can go for a ride.”

Why Outright Purchase Won over Revenue Share

Immediate returns. No revenue split, no waiting. Every ride generated direct income from day one.
Operational simplicity. Parent-supervised rides meant zero additional staffing. The model fitted seamlessly into the park’s existing leisure portfolio of water activities and pedal-powered options.
Confidence in profitability. The self-service structure proved guests wanted the experience enough to pay for it—and to return.
Brand alignment. Adventure-Trukz complemented the park’s broader “discover and play” positioning, giving families one more reason to extend their stay.

“Eiland van Maurik is a stunning site. Seeing families use the Adventure-Trukz to tour the park captures exactly what these vehicles are about - connectedness and new experiences.
