The next step is simple – share your plans and we’ll work together to make it happen
Hafan y Môr (meaning Haven of the Sea) is one of Haven’s largest holiday parks, located on the North Wales coast. With over 50 activities across a substantial site, the park requires attractions that are engaging for guests while remaining straightforward to operate at scale.
In the video below, Gethin, Head of Facilities at Hafan y Môr, shares how the Adventurers® have worked in practice on site.
Interview with Gethin, Head of Facilities, Hafan y Môr
While Hafan y Môr’s extensive activity offering brings clear benefits for guests, it also presented a challenge when considering the introduction of something new. The team were conscious of not adding an attraction that might distract from, or cannibalise, existing investments already in place.
There was also a strong focus on operational simplicity. With a large site footprint and a busy peak season, any new activity needed to be straightforward to manage, require minimal staffing, and integrate seamlessly into the park’s existing day-to-day operations.

The Adventurers® were introduced ahead of the summer season as a visible, low‑footprint activity designed to work alongside existing attractions rather than replace them.
A new fleet was rolled out across the park, creating immediate visual impact. The consistent design and visibility helped generate curiosity from guests, encouraging both pre‑booked and spontaneous participation.

From a guest perspective, the activity is deliberately simple:
The straightforward nature of the activity makes it accessible to a wide range of visitors, including families, groups, and mixed‑age parties.
Beyond guest hire, the Adventurers® are also used by staff as a practical way to move around the park.
With Hafan y Môr being a large site, staff regularly use the units to travel between areas more quickly than on foot, particularly when carrying out daily checks. This dual‑use adds operational value alongside the guest experience.
One of the key advantages for the team has been how simple the Adventurers® are to operate day to day. From an operational perspective, this simplicity was a major factor, as Gethin highlights in the interview when discussing staffing requirements and guest flow.
The model introduced at Hafan y Môr has required no additional staffing layers, and the team reported no teething issues following rollout.
As a result, the Adventurers® have become one of the most straightforward activities to manage on site.
One of the standout outcomes highlighted by the Hafan y Môr team has been the breadth of the audience using the Adventurers®. As Gethin put it in the interview, the appeal has been “everyone”.
In practice, the Adventurers® have been used by:
Rather than appealing to a single demographic, the activity has proven flexible enough to suit a wide range of guest types across the park.
“Out of all the activities we run on site, this is probably one of the most straightforward ones.”
“I’ll regularly see families take two or three out together and race down the road — it’s just fun to watch.”
“Families just want to have a bit of fun when they’re on holiday — what better way to do it, and what better place to do it.”
— Gethin, Head of Facilities, Hafan y Môr Holiday Park
From an operator perspective, the combination of low staffing requirements, strong visibility, and broad appeal has made the Adventurers® a low‑risk addition to the activity mix.
The Hafan y Môr team also highlighted the importance of support during rollout and early operation. From delivery and setup through to the first few weeks of use, Aqualand Industries were on hand to answer questions, provide guidance, and offer practical advice where needed.
This support helped the team settle the activity into day-to-day operations smoothly, ensuring confidence during the initial launch period.
This case study shows how the Adventurers® have been integrated into a large, established holiday park at Hafan y Môr without adding operational complexity. Despite an extensive existing activity offering, the Adventurers® have complemented what is already in place rather than competing with it.
With minimal staffing requirements, strong walk-up demand and broad appeal across different guest types, the activity has settled into day-to-day operations as one of the most straightforward attractions on site. Combined with practical support during rollout, this provides a clear example of how a low-footprint activity can work effectively at scale.
